A Full-Scale 8-Hour Live Stream Production

Behind the Scenes in Ottawa: A Full-Scale 8-Hour Live Stream Production

Live Stream Production by Spence Media Group

On November 4th, 2025, Spence Media Group delivered a full-day 8-hour live stream production in Ottawa, supporting a hybrid event that brought together over 400 in-person attendees and more than 100 virtual audience members across Canada and beyond. Our team spent three full days onsite—setup, event day, and tear down—ensuring a seamless, professional broadcast experience from start to finish.

This project showcased the full strength of SMG’s multi-camera video production, live streaming, hybrid event management, and post-production editing capabilities.

A Multi-Camera Production Built for Impact

To capture every moment with clarity and cinematic precision, we deployed a three-camera setup:

  • Two PTZ cameras for smooth, remote-controlled movement and dynamic stage coverage
  • One dedicated interview camera used to capture 11 professional interviews throughout the day

This combination allowed us to create a polished, broadcast-level live stream experience with fluid angles, tight shots, and wide context when needed.

Professional Audio for Both Stage & Studio

High-quality audio is the backbone of any successful live stream. For this event, we implemented a full audio ecosystem:

  • 1 lectern microphone
  • 4 wireless handheld microphones for panellists and presenters
  • 2 audience microphones for Q&A interaction

Interview Audio

  • A boom microphone was used to capture clean dialogue and natural room ambience, helping us create immersive, documentary-style interview segments.
  • All microphones were mixed live to ensure crystal-clear sound for both in-person attendees and the virtual audience.

Presentation, Projection & Live Integration

A major component of the event involved integrating multiple presentation elements in real-time:

  • We operated all PowerPoint decks throughout the day.
  • Presenters were also given a wireless click-through device, allowing them full control of their slides.
  • The content fed directly into the main projectors and a confidence monitor, giving speakers real-time visibility of their slides.

On the live stream, viewers saw:

  • Live camera feeds
  • Presentation slides
  • Picture-in-picture layouts
  • Remote presenters joining via Zoom
  • Real-time switching and transitions

Everything was synchronized for a clean, professional hybrid event experience.

Seamless Hybrid Integration with Remote Presenters

Several speakers joined remotely through a dedicated Zoom connection. Our setup ensured:

  • Remote presenters appeared on the projector screens in the venue
  • Virtual viewers saw the same high-quality feed
  • Remote speakers could see and hear the stage presenters and panels, creating a fully interactive hybrid environment

This level of integration required careful routing, live audio management, and multi-feed coordination—handled entirely by our production team.

Three Days of On-Site Work: Setup • Production • Tear down

A project of this scale requires planning and precision. Our team was onsite for:

Day 1 — Setup

  • Full equipment load-in
  • Camera placement and rigging
  • Audio testing and microphone calibration
  • Zoom integration and display testing
  • Lighting adjustments
  • Presentation mapping and operator workflow setup
  • Full technical rehearsal

Day 2 — Live Production

  • 8-hour multi-camera live stream
  • Real-time audio mixing and switching
  • Interview recording
  • Presentation operation
  • Zoom integration
  • Live troubleshooting and support

Teardown

  • Complete equipment breakdown
  • Data backup and offloading
  • Secure transfer of all video and audio assets

Post-Production: Polishing the Story

Following the event, our team produced a fully polished version of the live stream, enhancing the playback with:

  • Clean cuts and transitions
  • Corrected audio levels
  • Graphic overlays
  • Titles and lower thirds
  • Integrated interview segments
  • Colour correction and visual refinement

The result: a final playback that is more engaging, more accessible, and more informative than the original live broadcast.

Live streaming increases sales

Behind the Curtain: How Live Streaming Increases Sales

Live Streaming Increases Sales and Builds Connection

What if your next sale happened while you were live?
It’s not just possible — it’s happening every day for businesses that use live streaming to reach their audience in real time. Live streaming increases sales by turning ordinary moments into genuine opportunities. It’s personal, unscripted, and interactive — the perfect mix for engagement and trust.

When people tune in live, they’re not just watching — they’re participating. They can ask questions, share reactions, and feel part of something in the moment. That emotional connection drives real action. Studies show that viewers who watch live are three times more likely to become customers than those who only watch recorded content.

Why Live Streaming Increases Sales

The magic of live streaming for business lies in its authenticity. When customers see your face, hear your voice, and experience your passion, they build a sense of familiarity that no ad or email can match. Whether you’re hosting a live product demo, a Q&A session, or a behind-the-scenes look at your process, every broadcast builds trust — and trust drives sales.

Repurpose Your Live Streams for Lasting Impact

Here’s the bonus: once the stream ends, your content keeps working for you. Each broadcast becomes a goldmine of reusable clips, highlights, and short videos that can be shared across your website and social media channels. This means every live session continues to generate visibility, leads, and conversions long after you go off the air.

Go Live with Confidence

At Spence Media Group, we make going live simple and seamless. Our team handles every technical detail — cameras, lighting, audio, and streaming — while you focus on what matters most: connecting with your audience.

It’s time to show your face, share your story, and see how live streaming increases sales for your business. Let’s go live and turn your viewers into loyal customers.

Build Trust with Video

How Video Builds Trust Faster

How Video Builds Trust Faster

“You can’t build trust with pixels — unless those pixels move.”

When someone sees your face, hears your voice, and feels your confidence — that’s connection. Video captures what text and static images cannot: emotion, energy, and authenticity. It turns introductions into relationships and first impressions into lasting trust.

Why Video Builds Trust Faster Than Words Alone

People want to do business with people they know. That’s why video builds trust faster — it shows the real person behind the brand. Through tone, expression, and body language, your audience experiences your sincerity in a way that words alone can’t deliver. They don’t just hear your message; they feel it.

Whether you’re welcoming new clients, introducing your team, or sharing your story online, a professional video helps you stand out and connect on a personal level. When your audience sees your face and hears your voice, they begin to trust you before they even meet you.

Show Your Authentic Story with Spence Media Group

At Spence Media Group, we help businesses grow by turning genuine moments into powerful marketing tools. Whether filmed in our professional studio or on location, every video we create is designed to inspire confidence and build credibility.

It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being real. Because when your story moves — so do people. Discover how video builds trust faster and transforms your audience into loyal customers.

From concept to camera, we make the process simple, creative, and fun — helping you express what makes your business unique while building a connection that inspires action.

Video Interview Setup

Video Interviews Achieve 2025

Video Interviewing Achieve 2025

Pre-Production & Travel

Our team began the day early—up at 4:00 AM to prepare for a full day of interviews in Toronto. By sunrise, we were on the road with a complete gear setup, heading to the George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre (ENG) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).

The client had arranged an ambitious interview series that required precise scheduling, consistent technical quality, and a fast turnaround for podcasting and marketing use.

Production Day Setup

Upon arrival, we began setting up inside the ENG building. The plan was to record 11 back-to-back interviews, each forming part of a larger video series. To ensure professional, broadcast-ready results across every session, our team deployed:

  • Three professional 4K cameras for wide, close, and alternate angles.
  • A full lighting rig for even tones and shadow control.
  • Two boom microphones for primary audio capture.
  • Wireless lavalier microphones as redundant backups for each speaker.
  • A live-switching workflow, allowing real-time monitoring and 4K recording for perfect continuity.

This setup delivered consistent visual and audio quality from the first interview to the last.

The Interview Series

Interviews ran continuously through the morning and early afternoon. Thanks to the multi-camera setup and live-switching, each conversation flowed naturally and required minimal editing afterward. Our team managed both technical direction and scene continuity, ensuring the same clean, polished look across all 11 recordings.

By 3:00 PM, the final interview wrapped. We packed up efficiently and were back on the road by 4:00 PM—closing out a smooth, productive day in Toronto.

The video above is one of the 11 completed interviews, offering a glimpse into the production quality achieved during this project.

Post-Production

In the following days, our post-production team handled:

  • Basic colour correction for consistency across interviews.

  • Audio cleanup (removing minor background noise, balancing levels).

  • Light editing passes to prepare files for the client’s use.

  • Final deliverables rendered in high-quality formats, suitable for both podcast distribution and marketing campaigns.

All videos were delivered promptly, meeting the client’s timeline while maintaining professional quality.

Summary

This production demonstrates our ability to handle full-day, high-volume interview shoots under tight schedules with a professional, broadcast-ready workflow. From early-morning travel, multi-camera setup, and live-switching to efficient post-production, the result was a polished set of interviews that the client could immediately leverage for outreach and promotion.
